What is the DB Cookie Factory?

The DB Gourmet Cookie Company is a commercial bakery operation specializing in fresh baked cookies made with all natural ingredients and no preservatives. The unique feature of the commercial bakery operation will be the "social entrepreneurship" model which combines youth entrepreneurial education with practical work experience. The three owners of The DB Cookie Company were participants in a youth entrepreneurial program during the summer prior to their senior year at Sumner High School. As a result of their orientation to business ownership, they embarked on their first business which generated revenue to assist in funding their post high school education. The owners one day went to a local grocery store with a total of $10 in their pockets, bought ingredients for their first batch of cookies, and the baking business was born.

The business went into hiatus back in 1996 when the owners decided to join corporate America to gain more hands on knowledge about running a major company. In 2005 the DB Gourmet Cookies owners decided to seek out their mentor Sandra Marks owner of consulting firm Marks & Associates and once again the baking business was reborn, but this time with an emphasis on helping students develop practical work skills and Business savvy.

The company is now located in the St. Louis Enterprise Center at 3830 Washington Ave and serves as the DB Gourmet Cookie manufacturing and distribution point. This location is also the training facilities for future Entrepreneurs as part of the DB Cookie Factory Project.

The Company motto as describe by many of their customers is that "Our Cookies Speak For Themselves."
